Web typography
Web typography is the use of fonts on websites. The fonts are usually already programmed. So the designer would need to add a stylesheet to HTML and refer to the font in a CSS style. Fonts are classified into font classes. There are serif, slab-serif, and sans-serif font classes. Serif is traditional style fonts. Sub-serif are solid straight line fonts. Lastly sans-serif is a more legible font and more suitable for the web. There are different variations including narrow, bold, and italic. The size of the font will also be displayed on the Web. The main fonts for the Web are Arial, Georgia, and Verdana. Currently there are many sources to find good web typography. Google has a font directory which has open source fonts at a high quality. These are good fonts for designers to differentiate their sites.
